yw frank,what kind of idle problem are you having? maybe your float is sticking and carb loading up,could be cause of gas smell when draining hose,if idling rough tap gently on carb bowl with screw driver handle.if it smoothens out you probably need to clean carb.try it let me know how you make out , giro
